The Complete History Issue 1

Today sees the launch of a brand new Doctor Who partwork. A joint venture by Panini and Hachette Partworks, The Complete History is a collection of hardback books which builds up to chronicle the story behind every televised adventure. At the time of writing, the collection is planned to end with the 2014 special Last Christmas, however it may be extended if it proves to be a success.

The Complete History, edited by John Ainsworth, has been developed in close collaboration with Doctor Who Magazine, with the latter's long-running series of Archive features by Andrew Pixley forming the basis for much of the new partwork - revised and brought up to date with the latest discoveries and developments from the world of Doctor Who.

The books are being released out of sequence every two weeks, and so the first issue is Volume 55 - covering the David Tennant stories Gridlock, Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks, The Lazarus Experiment and 42.

Issue 1 of The Complete History is available in shops now for the special introductory price of £1.99 (usually £9.99), and readers can also subscribe online to receive exclusive free gifts.

More information can be found on the partwork's official website, and a TV ad is currently running, featuring the voice of the Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker.
